MISSION STATEMENT
Freedom is essentially and inextricably inherent to the nature of the human being.
It constitutes in its various dimensions an uppermost value of universal quality which must be respected to the highest possible extent. However, freedom implies self-responsibility of the individual as well as the individual’s responsibility for the community.
Democracy is the socio-organizational manifestation of freedom on the political level.
Thus, the individual’s freedom materializes by participation in decision-taking and is safeguarded by the community.
Based on this understanding of the substantial importance of freedom and democracy for the dignity of the human being we commit ourselves to providing a space for information, dialogue and critical reflection with the purpose to foster freedom and democracy in an ever changing, increasingly complex and challenging political environment.
Freedom is the air the mind needs to breathe, democracy is the environment which facilitates this air.
Therefore, we want to stand up and work for freedom and democracy as an expression for the very nature of the human being.
